About the Advertising

As you may have noticed, we recently added a little advertising to BibMe. We did this not because we’re trying to be greedy or annoy anyone, but because, unfortunately, there are some real costs involved in hosting and maintaining BibMe. We sincerely hope the advertising doesn’t offend anyone, if it does please let us know. We’re going to be experimenting a bit over the course of the next few weeks to try to determine the best approach. We may end of scrapping it entirely.

    I don’t think that you should put advertising on BibMe because it will take away from every good thing on BibMe. It could also distract users from their topic and what they are actually doing.

    This is a wonderful service. As far as I can see, it’s the only one that handles Chicago format, which I am required to use. Advertising is no problem. I’d also suggest making your donate button a bit easier to find…I only stumbled across it by accident. I don’t think anyone would mind if it was part of the template for your main pages.

    all of the advertising makes my compute very slow!! so thats why i try and not to visit this website that much!! i go to a better website for bibliographies. but if you guys stop the ads then i will visit more often. but i still LOVE this website!!!! (sometimes) just kidding

    I definately agree with the other posters about the DONATE button. The advertisers do not bother me at all. This site has saved me hours of time that I would have wasted. Everyone at my school uses this - THANK YOU SO MUCH.

    This is the best site I have found for citations. It has helped on everything, from research papers to homework to extra credit. BibMe probably saves me about 10 minutes for every internet and citation related assignment. I hardly ever notice the ads, so add more if you need to! My whole school uses this site, too. Thanks a bunch!

    this site is sooo awesome. I just found it the other day and I so dearly wish I had found it earlier!! I am a severe procrastinator, and now I don’t have to worry about citting in Turabian formatt for history!!!!! And I can sve it!! This is a wonderful cite and I will recomend it to all of my friends!!!!!!!

    Echoing the comments above, the ads are no problem at all. In fact, if you need help making money on this site without letting it get annoying, let me know. This isn’t spam, I promise. But I use your site a lot and maybe that would be a way for me to give back a little.
